RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists in the determination of rates.
- Analyzes develops and validates statistical data.
- Applies the appropriate actuarial analytical tools to the data and performs preliminary actuarial and statistical analysis.
- Updates actuarial pricing, valuation and forecasting models as directed.
- Refines and collects appropriate data for actuarial analysis and ensures its reasonableness and accuracy by coordination within the division.
- Identifies and resolves errors.
- Suggests creative methods to enhance the effectiveness of processes and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics or related field.
- Typically has passed at least one actuarial exam and has at least 30 credits.
- Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 preferred.
- Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong PC skills - demonstrated capability in the use of MS Excel, Access, Visual Basic and Word.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of actuarial and statistical modeling techniques used in the projection of premium claims and enrollment.
- Knowledge of insurance company operations as they relate to administration of premiums and claims.
- Ability to determine accuracy of data and reasonableness of results and identify and resolve errors.
- Ability to suggest creative methods to enhance the effectiveness of processes and procedures.
