Responsibilities:
·Responsibilities include performing actuarial analysis in the development of pricing strategies and policies. ·Develops actuarial assumptions used for modeling utilization, cost and revenue trends. ·Develops actuarial assumptions used in development of monthly claims liability estimates. ·Provide data analytic expertise to support Actuarial Services. ·Provides actuarial representation in systems development. ·Develops and implements rating tools (spreadsheets, models, databases, etc.) to be used by Underwriters for various product lines. ·Apply actuarial principles to assist in product development and improvement. ·Assists in presenting study findings to management. ·Supervise actuarial analysts on specific projects. ·The Senior Actuarial Analyst will determine most appropriate analytic tools to develop actuarial models and determine most efficient methods for data collection and analysis. ·Incumbent will collaborate with Shared Services Actuarial Staff: to assist in measuring Plan performance, applying best pricing practices and preparing data analytic reports for actuarial models on a daily basis and Regional Finance Staff: to request and explain required data to support Regional claims liability estimates on a monthly basis.
Qualifications: ·Requirements for this position include a Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, finance, economics, or equivalent experience required. 5+ years of analytical experience or equivalent experience required to include 3 years of relevant data analytic experience including academic course-work, including relevant database construction, spreadsheet development and/or programming experience. ·Actively pursuing the Society of Actuaries or Casualty Actuarial Society examination syllabus. ·The Senior Actuarial Analyst must have effective verbal and written communication skills and strong organization and presentation skills. ·Have the ability to conduct and interpret quantitative/qualitative analysis and the ability to determine key analytic issues. ·Team and consensus building skills. Strong analytic skills and effective project management skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access) and Lotus Notes. ·Will receive recognition of when data proposed for use in actuarial analysis is incomplete or inconsistent. ·Prioritizing multiple tasks and assignments from multiple actuarial staff. Incumbent will work on teams with the Data analytic, Pricing and National Pricing System work groups.
