RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Calculation of reserves on IFRS, US GAAP, stat and tax basis.
- Primary contact for state regulators, internal and external auditors on all valuation issues.
- Provide input and feedback on regulatory and accounting valuation issues to organization and Retirement Services management.
- Active participation in NAIC and industry committee in areas relevant to valuation issues.
- Annual reserve adequacy testing, including assumptions, coordination with modeling area, review of results, completion of all regulatory memoranda.
- Serve as “point-person” for modeling, pricing and financial reporting actuaries on new products, new benefits, and new regulatory developments.
- Upon approval, act as the group’s “Appointed Actuary”.
- Annual Regulatory Requirements including Reserve Adequacy Testing, Reserve Memorandums, C3 Phase 1 and 2 calculations and memorandum
- Bluebook Exhibits.
- Rating Agency Surveys.


QUALIFICATIONS:

- The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of solid experience in actuarial and risk management, ideally with a strong background and understanding of retirement products.
- He / she could previously have been an actuary or actuarial consultant. More specifically, it will require the following Job Knowledge and Skills:
- Effective communication skills, presents ideas and data completely and clearly.
- Ability to handle shifting priorities; flexible.
- Holds self accountable for commitments and results.
- Willingly shares resources, information, and expertise with others.
- A team player that is able to function as a key member of the US Insurance Risk Management team, and demonstrate strong leadership skills and a high degree of ownership.
