RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Actuarial Student position in Corporate Actuarial offers an opportunity to gain exposure to financial actuarial concepts while working on some key projects.
- Primary responsibility is for traditional embedded value and value of new business, but the position will be involved with other reporting requirements (International Financial Reporting Standards, Fair Value, Statutory, GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley, etc.).
- Compiles, evaluates and certifies statistical data. Documents assumptions and/or methodology used in calculations.
- There are also opportunities to improve the technology used for data collection, validation, reporting and analysis, and participate in emerging issues.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Statistics, Economics or related field.
- Must have completed 1 actuarial exam.
- Must be an active participant in the Actuarial Student program.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, VBA.
- Produces results (responsibility/initiative) meeting agreed upon deadlines.
- Thorough and detail oriented, and strong organizational skills.
- Analytical and reasoning skills.
- Interest in working with computer technology to improve processes.
- Must be able to work collaboratively with other staff.
- Should have an interest in continuing with actuarial exams.
