Responsibilities:

·Develops technical and business knowledge by collecting and analyzing data related to product development, pricing, reserving, financial reporting and other actuarial functions
·Applies expertise and technical support, under the guidance of seasoned associates, in matters related to the successful and financially sound operation of the company's business to the department's external and internal customers.
·To provide analytical, systems and data expertise for the individual health line of business.
·Leads and completes projects requiring analysis and reporting of individual health information to support management decision making. Includes sales, actuarial, and financial reporting.
·25-40% Generate experience reports and manual rate analyses, and assist in developing recommendations and preparation of state filings for rate changes and product implementation that will ensure the profitability and financial integrity of company business.
·25-40% Produce and analyze actuarial schedules, such as capitation tables and reserving factors, and assist in the preparation or required financial reports and statements.
·20-30% Participate in special actuarial studies and projects such as renewal adequacy, persistency and the development of pure premium estimates from loss distribution modeling and analysis.
·10% Develop a thorough understanding of Managed Care practices and procedures from an actuarial perspective.
·10% Prepare for the successful completion of Society of Actuaries examinations.

Requirements:

·Must have a four-year college degree or completed coursework.
·Actuarial or related internship within the group health insurance industry desired.
·Completion of one or more CAS/SOA examinations also desired.
