RESPONSIBILITIES:
- As a member of Organization Reinsurance Valuation, you will have a unique opportunity to be part of a leading global life retrocessionnaire supporting the needs of reinsures in the U.S., Canada and Europe, giving our organization a truly international presence.
- Our current position in the North American retrocession market is 35% share of Individual Life and 90% of Group Life.
- Ensure timely preparation and accuracy of actuarial components of Canadian GAAP, US GAAP, IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), US statutory, Irish regulatory, US, Canadian and Irish tax bases (including related MCCSR calculations) for all entities (Irish Branch, Irish Subsidiary, Canadian Branch, US Branch, Barbados Subsidiaries) quarterly including attestations.
- Ensure an appropriate internal control system over actuarial processes for financial reporting exists and submit quarterly actuarial lead Sarbanes-Oxley attestation.
- Ensure timely preparation and accuracy of the Appointed Actuary's Report for Organization Reinsurance.
- Ensure timely preparation and accuracy of sensitivities for the measurement uncertainty disclosure in the annual Notes to the Financial Statement and the MD&A (management discussion and analysis) as well as the quarterly MRTL (Market Risk Tolerance Limits) results and other developing risk appetite reporting.
- Ensure timely preparation and accuracy of Source of Earnings Analysis and attestation.
- Ensure development and implementation of a framework for Economic Capital.
- Work closely with Risk Management and ALM to implement and monitor currency hedging and investment strategies for various jurisdictions and entities.
- Manage the valuation team contributing to the development of high quality valuation resources for Organization by ensuring high levels of employee engagement within the team, making relevant human resource decisions (i.e. recruitment and selection, promotion, performance management), establishing learning and development opportunities to continually develop the capabilities of employees, holding direct reports accountable for meeting business and people objectives providing active coaching and support for their growth and development, and developing a succession pool for leadership roles on the team.
- Develop and manage effective, influential internal and external relationships.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- FCIA with at least 10 years of experience.
- Canadian GAAP financial reporting and regulatory reporting requirements at a senior level.
- Solid communication skills (written and verbal) and people skills in dealing with a wide range of stakeholders including functional heads and senior corporate executives.
- Experienced leader with strong planning skills and ability to make process improvements.
- Proven leadership abilities to build a strong, high functioning team.

- There is ongoing exposure to both the Organization Executive team and the Organization Canada Executive team when Organization Reinsurance reports the quarterly financial results and the business plan.
