RESPONSIBITIES
-Develop models needed to support pricing of new products. This includes coding the product features, setting system switches, and programming in Excel and AXIS is required.
-Manage iterations of pricing models in the product development process.
-Be responsible for the integrity of the models used. Identify and build the appropriate control procedures with regard to model changes.
-Model the impact of various risk management tools (i.e. reinsurance and/or capital markets hedging) on the business's risk/return profile.
-Support the preparation of the company's annual new business plan and oversee annual experience study relating to business mix.
-Maintain an understanding of CGAAP, NAIC, and US GAAP regulatory environments that impact pricing, modeling and hedging of US VA business, specifically as to the mortality and living benefit guarantees offered on Variable Annuities.
-Complete sensitivity analysis as needed to support inforce business.
- Manage actuarial student(s)
QUALIFICATIONS:
-FSA or experienced ASA will be considered.
-Results-oriented with strong attention to details.
-Initiative, integrity, and personal accountability for projects and results.
-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to think "outside the box".
-Good understanding and knowledge of economics, finance, investments and risk management.
-Financial understanding of model projections.
-Ability to manage projects and people to achieve high quality results under deadline pressures.
-Experience in prioritizing and managing several projects simultaneously.
