Position: Head of Section - Corporate Pricing Modelling & Quality Assurance

RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Providing support for the Head of Department in implementing the strategy and objectives of Corporate Pricing
-Disciplinary management
-Functional management of other actuaries, particularly in Princeton
-Responsibility for modelling all basic and large loss segments in the Munich Re risk model
-Responsibility for loadings, capital costs and administrative costs to be used in pricing, and thus, ultimately, responsibility for Munich Re’s profitability-oriented portfolio controlling
-Maintaining/Further developing methodology and tools together with Integrated Risk Management
-Coordinating and communicating with management and underwriters
-Providing support for pricing in the underwriting units, e.g. market quotations, preparing indices or complex individual covers
-Developing guidelines and best practice standards for pricing
-Exercising pricing-relevant quality assurance measures
-For management of pricing knowledge (work in knowledge networks)
-Work on scientific projects, for example in conjunction with the German Association of Actuaries and universities
-Identifying and presenting topics to the Pricing Board
QUALIFICATIONS:
-University degree in mathematics or a related field of study
-Several years’ practical experience in pricing primary insurance and reinsurance business
-The ability to identify and solve pricing problems in short- and long-tail areas
-Good abstract reasoning skills and a holistic approach
-Excellent strategic skills
-Sensitivity to multicultural professional environments
-Very good command of German and English (a good working knowledge of a second foreign language would be a distinct advantage)
-Strong skills in communicating technical contents to the layman
