RESPONSIBILITIES

- Translating product specifications into valuation assumptions for new products
- Assisting in statutory, GAAP, and tax valuation and other miscellaneous reserving requirements
- Aiding in the preparation of the actuarial portions of the financial statements and federal income tax returns
- Building and running computer asset/liability models using actuarial modeling software
- Assessing current and new product designs for feasibility in the marketplace
- Pricing of new and existing product designs to ensure that Division profit goals are met
- Assist with quarterly ALM risk profiles, investment income budget, regulatory cash flow testing and value added
- Analyze investment strategies and hedging/derivative applications
- Assist in consolidation and analysis of divisional cash flow testing and value added submissions
- Assist in consolidation and review of divisional annual statement actuarial exhibit submissions
- Compilation and review of divisional required surplus calculations, including maintenance of required surplus template and database
- Automate existing processes by writing programs or macros







QUALIFICATIONS:

- Students working toward a degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or statistics
- Strong mathematical skills, analytical skills, initiative and attention to detail
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Desire to work in a team environment
- Knowledge of MS Excel or other spreadsheet applications
- Knowledge of at least one computer programming language and/or Visual Basic would be beneficial
- At least one SOA/CAS exam passed is preferred
- Previous or current leadership experience is preferred
