RESPONSIBILITIES
- Play an active role in guiding the preparation and interpretation of actuarial and financial information. - Exercise significant judgment in setting priorities and determining necessary tasks. - Provide guidance and advice regarding technical actuarial issues such as pricing rates, modeling methodology, reserving principles and related matters. - Lead the preparation and interpretation of actuarial information for presentation to Senior Management. - Support and assist Actuarial management to develop actuarial policies and procedures. - Lead several key projects at various times during the year. - Lead the development of actuarial talent within the organization. - Represent the company on industry and professional committees and/or with regulators. - Supervise two or more employees with the authority to hire and fire. - Responsible for writing and delivering performance reviews and providing guidance and direction to employees.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or related field, and 8 years of related actuarial experience. - In lieu of Bachelor's, will accept Master’s in a listed discipline and 6 years experience. - FSA and American Academy of Actuaries membership required. - TCM Actuarial is seeking a professional actuary who desires to pursue a career in the specialized field of valuation and financial reporting for fixed deferred annuities. - A knowledge of and experience with annuity products, valuation processes and techniques, valuation software (e.g. Polysystems, ARCVAL), modeling software (e.g. ALFA, TAS) and accounting systems (e.g. IFRS, GAAP, statutory, and tax). - Experience in developing, evaluating and managing actuarial projects and personnel.
