RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform financial, statistical and mathematical analysis applying generally accepted accounting principles and related financial criteria.
- Make initial determinations on reserves and surplus forecasts for client areas.
- Prepare actuarial exhibits (schedules of statistics), financial statements, reserves, documenting/verifying the factors used in related computations to achieve profitability and growth goals.
- Provide actuarial analyses, responses and communications to product areas.
- Focus on the actuarial modeling which will be used for C-3 Phase 2 RBC, VACARVM, economic capital and embedded value primarily through use of Prophet and ATLAS.
- Interface with hedging /reinsurance area to develop, test and document hedge modeling and reinsurance modeling with Prophet.
- Interface with asset/liability areas to support cash flow testing in Prophet from an asset modeling perspective and to enhance asset modeling capabilities
- Support general modeling development efforts in Prophet Back-up valuation
- Support actuary for SOX review of periodic results reporting
- Support, as needed, periodic and ad hoc request efforts
- Understand ATLAS modeling sufficiently to cross check versus Prophet and support fair value calculations for FAS 157
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficiency in Word & Excel
- Knowledge of Prophet, ATLAS or Moses would be a plus
- Ability to quickly learn actuarial software packages (Prophet, ArcVal, ATLAS)
- Attention to detail, organization and documentation
- Ability to look at data analytically
- Ability to work as part of a team Good communications skills
