Responsibilities:

·The Strategic Pension Sr. Consultant will work primarily with the existing Strategic Pension Management team, RG investment consulting staff, related RG personnel, USPC, MLIM and GMI teams.
·Responsibilities include peer review and setup of advanced asset/liability projection model projects for pension plans.
·Research responsibilities include developing innovative financial alternatives i.e., derivative and other structured solutions for pension plan investment and incorporating those alternatives into the Strategic Pension Management analytic.
·Client consulting responsibilities include developing and implementing a strategic plan for large plan sponsors to effectively and efficiently manager their pension plan investments.
·Work as part of a broad-based client service team.
·Demonstrate teamwork skills by participating in strategic initiatives that can help company’s Retirement Group achieve its goals and realize its vision.
·Support the client service, direct sales, and financial advisor organizations in pursuit of growth objectives.
·In addition, may play a role in the support of new business presentations where pension plan investment matters are discussed.
·Evaluates relevant industry trends, regulatory concerns, and potential issues.
·Stays abreast of relevant changes to Retirement Group’s business and works with business partners to implement changes to policies, procedures and processes.

Qualifications

·In-depth knowledge of business retirement plans, and general marketing techniques and strategies.
·Seasoned professional with expert knowledge of the retirement plan business
·7+years experience in defined benefit pension general pension consulting including significant experience in creating and manipulating asset/liability models.
·Actuarial background.
·Programming skills within Visual Basic, MS Access and MS Excel are a strong plus.
·Strong knowledge of traditional and non-traditional i.e. derivative investment strategies
·Strong oral and written communications skills.
·Series 7 and 66 licenses, CFA designation (may be obtained after hire)
·College degree along with professional actuarial designations (EA, ASA, FSA)
·Excellent, professional presentation skills and meeting management skills.
·Excellent people skills and ability to quickly form meaningful working partnerships.
·Sound business management and decision-making skills.
·Consultative skills with demonstrated proficiency in discussing markets, asset allocation strategies, investment policies
