﻿<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?><rss version="2.0" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/"><channel><title>ActuaryForum.com / Actuarial Corner / Actuary Classifieds  / Senior Actuarial Assistant (Life) / Latest Posts</title><generator>InstantForum.NET v4.1.4</generator><description>ActuaryForum.com</description><link>http://www.actuaryforum.com/</link><webMaster>info@nasearchg.com</webMaster><lastBuildDate>Fri, 05 Dec 2008 07:08:18 GMT</lastBuildDate><ttl>20</ttl><item><title>Senior Actuarial Assistant (Life)</title><link>http://www.actuaryforum.com/Topic15291-27-1.aspx</link><description>Position:   	Senior Actuarial Assistant &lt;br&gt;	&lt;br&gt;Company:	Reinsurer&lt;br&gt;	&lt;br&gt;Location:   	Missouri&lt;br&gt;	&lt;br&gt;Job ID:      	14774&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;RESPONSIBILITIES:&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt;- Perform corporate valuation/financial reporting and analysis for the International segments of the company. &lt;br&gt;- Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of the financial forecasting infrastructure and analytic foundation across the segment by developing/maintaining actuarial models and processes used not only for valuation, but also to support unbiased planning, reporting, economic capital refinement, capital planning, cash flow testing, and other such uses. &lt;br&gt;- Provides general valuation, financial analysis, and project assistance.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;QUALIFICATIONS:&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;- Bachelor’s degree in Math, Finance, Actuarial Sciences, Statistics or related field&lt;br&gt;- P and FM and/or M actuarial exams completed (or equivalent)&lt;br&gt;- Exam C through FAP, Modules 1-8 &amp; Exams 1-2 (required at senior level)&lt;br&gt;- 2+ years of actuarial experience&lt;br&gt;- Intermediate to Advanced PC and technical skills, including database applications (Access, Oracle, SQL or equivalent technology), spreadsheets, statistical programs and actuarial software such as MoSes, TAS, AXIS ore equivalent.&lt;br&gt;- Must be flexible and adaptable to change&lt;br&gt;- Takes initiative and is accountable&lt;br&gt;- Ability to multi-task &lt;br&gt;- Ability to balance detail with departmental goals/objectives&lt;br&gt;- Advanced oral and written communication skills&lt;br&gt;- Complex analytical and problem solving skills&lt;br&gt;- Ability to compile, analyze, refine, and interpret large amounts of financial data/results and model projections.&lt;br&gt;- Competent knowledge and understanding of actuarial concepts&lt;br&gt;- Ability to work independently and to work well within a team environment and participate in department projects.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Preferred Qualifications&lt;br&gt;- Ability to program in visual basic or equivalent&lt;br&gt;- Competent understanding of key insurance-related concepts, including life &amp; annuity products, reinsurance contracts and basic GAAP, Statutory, and tax accounting principles.&lt;br&gt;- Expertise in MoSes, TAS, and/or AXIS (or equivalent actuarial software). &lt;br&gt;- Advanced understanding of US GAAP SFAS 60.
