Responsibilities:

·The area is responsible for the valuation and actuarial risk management reporting for individual annuities.
·This position has the responsibility of supporting both these functions.
·The associate will be involved with the monthly valuation process, year-end valuation reporting requirements, system support initiatives, audits, state examinations and special requests.
·He/she will also be involved with implementing and developing work plans relating to control, compliance and actuarial risk assessment initiatives.
·The associate will assist in the development of methods to improve the valuation process and to organize formal documentation.
·Understanding actuarial risks associated with individual annuities and building reports that help analyze these will be a key component of this job.
Specific Responsibilities are:
·System Testing – support the implementation of modifications to CARVM reserve calculations based on Actuarial Guidelines and product development.
·Actuarial Risk Management – enhance and build new reports to assist certain actuarial functions: financial modeling; valuation; product development.
·GAAP Reporting – assist in month end GAAP valuation and financial reporting.
·Data Management – assist with database design and system development projects that occur within the Actuarial department.


Qualifications

·Bachelors (BBA/BA/BS) or equivalent experience
·4-6 Years years of work experience
·Experience with actuarial functions such as valuation, pricing, product development, or risk management.
·Advanced experience in MS Excel and MS ACCESS.
·Strong analytical/mathematical skills.
·Experience in generating mathematical and statistical reports used in actuarial computation and documentation.
·Detail-oriented, very organized.
·Creative problem solver.
·Ability to work equally well independently and to direct a project in a team environment.
·Knowledge of the individual annuity product line.
·Strong background in Accounting, Finance and/or Financial Reporting is a plus.
·Experience with AnnuityMaster, Triton or other valuation systems is helpful.
·This position requires a detail-oriented and very organized individual.
·In addition, the associate must understand the complexities of the individual annuity product line, comply with specific actuarial regulations, and follow controls relating to Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
