Responsibilities:
·Assists the Country Performance Management Manager to provide actuarial support to the local business unit and local external parties, also offers support to ad-hoc projects when actuarial knowledge is required.
·Prepares reports for review before filing to regulator.
·Reviews work of junior actuarial staff for consistency, reasonableness, comprehensiveness and suitability of purpose.
·Supervises team members to meet deadlines and quality standards.
·Assists in planning and managing work flow for the team in line with priorities.
·Provides ad hoc support for the local business according to needs / priorities.
·Manages valuation checking to ensure quality of source data
·Calculates reinsurance transactions.
·Coordinates with Performance Management shared services to obtain information as needed.
·Exercises initiative and discretion within the bounds of authority delegated by the Country Performance Management Manager.
Qualifications
·Associate actuary with a minimum of 3 years total experience
·Previous experience in life insurance
·Is able to perform a variety of tasks
·Delivers to schedule
·Checks to ensure accuracy and consistency of work
·Attends to details
·Shares experience and information with colleagues
·Shares views / suggestions openly and confidently with colleagues, customers and management
·Bases analyses and conclusions on objective data and logical thinking
·Offers ideas and takes steps to improve workflow, productivity or service
·Gives feedback to recognize and enhance staff performance and offers support where needed
