Responsibilities:
Rotational assignments offer project experience in a wide variety of business units such as: Group or Individual Life Insurance, Retirement Services, Long Term Care, Annuities, Pensions, Investments, International Insurance, Corporate Actuarial plus opportunities in non-actuarial positions such as Treasurers, Audit, Controllers and Financial Modeling. Participants have an outstanding opportunity to apply their analytical and technical skills while learning business principles. This accelerated program delivers a fast-paced environment where you’ll gain valuable experience in a supportive atmosphere.
·Assignment examples include: analyze product design and pricing ·Create a model to analyze portfolio holdings ·Develop and analyze business models ·Create & model cost and reserve methodologies for most favorable options ·Asset adequacy and cash flow testing using actuarial software ·Perform asset liability analysis or develop new products and rate filings ·Analyze how variables in product distribution affect operating income, revenues and return on equity. ·Rotational project assignments in Individual or Group Life Insurance, Pension, Annuities, Long Term Care, International Insurance, Retirement Services, Investments or Corporate Actuarial that challenges your analytical, business and interpersonal skills. ·Special curriculum to develop leadership skills. ·An actuarial management advisor to assist with career development. ·Generous study time allowances for each exam session. ·Payment of actuarial exam fees plus books, review courses and seminars to help you prepare.
Qualifications:
·As an associate within the program, you will be expected to pass actuarial exams administered by the Society of Actuaries at a prescribed pace. ·Locations of rotational assignments are: Hartford and Shelton CT. ·Ideal candidates for this fast track program are those who have passed Course 1 or 2 given by the Society of Actuaries or the Casualty Actuarial Society ·Demonstrated leadership and work experience ·Superior analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
