Responsibilities:
·Serves as a high-level consultant/researcher on Property & Casualty Actuarial matters
·Receives research/development assignments from Research Directors
·Reviews data in innovative ways to further the pricing and risk selection objectives of the enterprise
·Conducts all phases of research (proposes, designs, executes, interprets, communicates, and assists with implementation)
·Conducts studies using actuarial resources, and in conjunction with other financial/research areas of the enterprise
·Demonstrates fundamental knowledge of multiple modeling techniques including but not limited to regression, neural networks, decision trees, and clustering
·Provides expertise to assist those testifying on statistical questions and issues
·Provides advice and support to management and actuaries on statistical questions and issues
·Participates in developing communications of complex research findings
·Participates in external professional and industry committees/studies
Qualifications
·Possesses substantial education (graduate level) and technical background in Math, Statistics, Economics, and/or Data Mining field of study
·Possesses a full complement of technical skills
·Demonstrates expertise in one or more areas of database design, data mining/modeling
·Proficiency or Expertise in SAS desired
·1+ to 2 years of experience
