Responsibilities: Key job family responsibilities: ·Analyzes actuarial ratemaking data. ·Prepares rate proposals for management. ·Prepares responses to various requests for actuarial information. ·Implements rates to satisfy the financial objectives of the enterprise. ·Prepares for and participates in marketing conferences. ·Prepares filings for regulatory authorities. Trainee responsibilities: ·Successful completion of the initial Actuarial Training Program. ·With guidance, prepares standard actuarial analyses. ·Learns ratemaking methodologies. ·Transitions to specific state assignment responsibilities. ·Gains a working knowledge of workstation tools related to actuarial analysis. ·Meets expectations for CAS exam progress. ·Prepares special reports, exhibits, or analyses. ·May participate in intradepartmental committees. ·May orally present actuarial information to other areas of the company.
Qualifications: ·Degree in Actuarial Science, Math or related field. ·Successful completion of at least one actuarial exam. ·Strong academic background in basic, intermediate, and advanced mathematics. ·Ability and desire to continue to pass a series of examinations leading toward professional recognition as a qualified actuary. ·Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing. ·We are interested in recent college graduates and those with 0 - 5 years experience. ·Critical technical skills. ·Math skills. ·EXCEL required. ·ACCESS and SAS desired.
