Responsibilities:

·This position will assist staff actuaries in the development and maintenance of actuarial models.
·Specific assignments and area(s) of work will be determined, but will likely include modeling for Embedded Value, Financial Plans, RBC Phase II, and Cash Flow Testing applications.
·Projects will involve meaningful and challenging actuarial work, and contribute to the individual's personal and professional development.
·This position is eligible to participate in the Actuarial Student Program.
·Develop and maintain actuarial models.
·Research and develop appropriate assumptions and methods to use in models.
·Analysis, testing and evaluation of produced outcomes.
·Perform some regular procedures (such as preparing scheduled reports) and also contribute to a variety of diversified and challenging projects.
·Continue progression in Society of Actuaries exams.
·Provide support to other areas/departments as needed
·Contribute to project teams which involve other areas/departments


Qualifications
·Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or Math, or a concentration/minor in these with a degree in Computer Science or Business, or equivalent.
·Passing of exam(s) from the Society of Actuaries, or active preparation for exams
·GPA of 3.5 or greater is preferred
·Creative problem-solving: use strong analytical skills, and ability to apply actuarial concepts to specific situations
·Experience or coursework in computer programming (such as Mathematica, C++, spreadsheet macros)
·Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
·Demonstrated leadership abilities
·Strong oral and written communication skills
·Highly self-motivated with strong personal management and organizational skills
