RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provides support to Principal in performing actuarial consulting services to clients.
- Responsible for the timely preparation of all phases of actuarial valuations and projects.
- Trains, supervises and manages Associates and Consultants.
- Ability to work successfully with mid-level client contacts for all types and sizes of clients.
- Maintains significant contact with clients of all sizes both over the telephone and in client meetings,
- Supervises all phases of actuarial valuations and special projects.
- Coordinates and reviews the preparation and results of valuations and cost estimates.
- Consults with other Mellon lines of businesses to assist in valuations and other special projects.
- Provides Principal Retirement Actuary with up-to-date information on status of projects.
- Keeps abreast of latest trends and developments in pension actuarial field.
- Supervises actuarial staff including planning, coordinating, directing, and reviewing job duties.


QUALIFICATIONS:

- FSA required.
- Most recent Performance Rating On-Target or better.
- Demonstrates proven ability to perform assigned duties of job.
- Project management skills. Manages time effectively, works under deadlines and meets budget expectations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with all levels of management/clients.
- Strong math and computer skills.
- Strong management skills, including the ability to appropriately delegate, supervise and develop employees.
- Ability to work on a team.
