RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Support Product Design.
- Participate on product design teams.
- Conduct feasibility studies for product concepts/value propositions.
- Represent the financial/actuarial interest.
- Support the establishment of pricing assumptions (e.g. morbidity, expenses, commissions, etc.), Includes review of current methodology and recommending methodology enhancements.
- Gather and analyze data necessary to set assumptions.
- Adjust assumptions to reflect trends and new product features.
- Support the establishment of premium and dividend rates that are adequate, accurate and competitive.
- Maintain new business pricing model and pricing methods. Recommend enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Development of premium rates for new and existing products that meet financial objectives.
- Verify that the rates are internally consistent and competitive.
- Direct the implementation of new and revised products.
- Prepare product rate filings.
- Direct creation of rate files for new business systems and illustration system testing.
- Ensure that the product meets regulatory standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Looking for a candidate with a minimum of 2 SOA Exams required up to ASA, with desire to achieve FSA. (Job responsibilities will reflect level of exams hired).
- BA/BS with a quantitative focus (i.e., Mathematics, Actuarial, Finance, Economics).
- Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher preferred.
- Computer languages desired but not required: APL.
- Software languages required: Excel, Word, and Access.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills desired.
- High level of independent action, initiative and innovation.
- Ability to respond to changes in direction, tight deadlines and high pressure situations.
