RESPONSIBITIES
-The individual in this position will be part of the financial modeling unit in the Actuarial Analysis and Modeling (AA&M) area of Individual Life. -This position is open to both internal candidates within Prudential and external candidates outside of Prudential. -The individual will work in a group that focuses on Economic Capital, UL Capital Management, and Embedded Derivative Valuation for UL secondary guarantee reinsurance, and special modeling projects within Individual Life. -This position will be primarily responsible for Economic Capital modeling for traditional products. -Major responsibilities include creating and maintaining ALFA model to project cash flows under various economic and sensitivity test scenarios, determining both available and required economic, and analyzing the projection results for EC purposes. -As EC is an emerging area of practice, this individual will help determine future changes in methodology and develop a deeper understanding of the drivers for changes in EC. -In addition, this position will also be responsible for any other special modeling or analysis projects for traditional products. - Although the individual will focus on traditional products, he or she is expected to support the Variable/UL team for capital management for EC, capital management work, and derivative work. -This individual may be involved with other modeling work such as Asset Adequacy Testing, modeling development, and quarterly forecast work if help is needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-Strong financial knowledge and financial modeling experience are required. -Prior individual life experience is desired. -Highly self-motivated to succeed and be willing to take responsibilities to accomplish objectives. -Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication, and project management skills are needed. -ASA/FSA is preferred. -Prior experience with the ALFA financial modeling software is strongly desired. Hand-on experience on other modeling tool such as, MoSes, TAS, PTS or other financial projection software packages will be considered a plus. -Strong computer skills including Excel, Microsoft Access, and Visual Basic Application are desirable.
