RESPONSIBILITIES: - Code new products into actuarial modeling and valuation software with product features and actuarial assumptions outlined by the Actuary. - Build in force data files needed by the actuarial modeling software to run the quarterly models, including developing the appropriate groupings to ensure a manageable number of cells. - Test and validate the projected values and other output from the actuarial modeling software. - Test and validate the statutory, GAAP and tax reserves produced by the valuation software. - Work with IT staff to develop and test the liability data feeds from the administration systems to the actuarial modeling and valuation software. - Respond to other Corporate Actuarial needs including transferring results from the actuarial modeling & valuation systems to Excel spreadsheets for financial reporting and analyses: summarizing actuarial valuation-related data for inclusion in monthly reports; creating ALM and other miscellaneous reports - Participate in the Society of Actuaries examination program with a satisfactory pass record.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor Degree in Mathematics, Business or Science as well as a high level of mathematical ability, including a good working knowledge of calculus, linear algebra, probability & statistics and numerical analysis - One or two actuarial exams preferred - Ability to research problems and questions and provide recommendations to the requestor - Strong Personal Computer skills, including TAS and spreadsheets - Strong communication skills, oral and written
