Responsibilities:
·Reports to Chief Marketing Officer ·Head Product Development function in Sales & Marketing ·Supervise a staff of 4-7 junior pricing actuaries and competition analysts. ·Interact with multiple distribution channel home office staff and field force (e.g. agents, telemarketers etc) to solicit their input and translate them into practical solutions. ·Conduct market/product research, compensation research ·Develop features and competitive benchmarks for products ·Price/profit test products using standardized tools such as MG-ALFA ·Develop tools to measure countries’ product sales performance ·Develop metrics with CFO to measure product profitability ·Develop compensation programs for agents and managers ·Prepare and review product filings to MOF and coordinate filing with the Appointed Actuary ·Prepare and review product filing template for NYHO approval
Qualifications ·Accomplished, fully qualified FSA, or a Country Equivalent Actuary ·5-7 years minimum experience post fully qualified status ·Experience with many of the following products: Universal Life, Whole Life, Fixed Annuities, SPIA, Variable Life, Variable Annuities, Term, Critical Illness and other A&H products ·Knowledge of US GAAP Accounting and Embedded Value Concepts ·Ability to work with Investment Department to address various product related asset liability risk management issues ·Good English Language Proficiency------written and verbal Desired: ·Prior supervisory experience ·Stochastic pricing methodology ·Experience with non-traditional distribution channels ·International insurance experience ·Outgoing and market savvy orientation ·Comfortable to make presentations to groups and Senior Management
