Responsibilities:

·Under the direct supervision of more senior actuaries, the Actuarial Associate assists in formulating strategic objectives and tactical plans for fixed and variable annuity products.
·The Actuarial Associate also handles daily business activities that satisfy product and profitability objectives while recognizing needs of all constituents, including sales, service, financial and legal.
·In addition, the Actuarial Associate participates in implementation of new product efforts by working closely with various constituents, is responsible for setting new money and renewal rates for both fixed and variable annuities and determines the amount of assets to purchase for expected new sales and renewals of the fixed annuity product line.
·Further, the Actuarial Associate builds Visual Basic applications in Microsoft Excel to streamline the rate setting procedure and for monthly analysis models of the variable annuity fixed account.
·Finally, the Actuarial Associate is responsible for management reporting package illustrating sales, profitability, competitor updates and other key information, supports state and SEC filing efforts and handles ad hoc requests including exceptions and large case due diligence.

Qualifications

·Successful candidates must possess at least a bachelor's degree or its equivalent in Actuarial Science or a relate field, two years of work experience as an Actuary (Insurance).
·The work experience must include Visual Basic, Access and Excel; actuarial modeling and analysis; project management; and investments practices and procedures.
·The Actuarial Associate must also have successfully passed Actuarial courses 1 through 4 or the equivalent.
