Responsibilities:

·Function as a health actuary as part of a growing team in support of clients
·Interact with clients around health, group benefits, actuarial and data analysis issues
·Perform audit work on a U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and statutory basis including the review of asset adequacy analyses
·Perform recalculations of actuarial values using spreadsheets or actuarial software (TAS) and produce other analytical(s)
·Maintain documentation files consistent with firm guidelines
·Provide assistance on financial reporting related matters in the areas of financial statement conversions, compliance with new or existing standards and other matters as they arise
·Provide assistance on process review work such as review of actuarial internal controls
·Perform transaction-related work including due diligence and purchase GAAP conversions

Qualifications

·Minimum of three exams under the new syllabus is preferred
·Ability to work on multiple projects with multiple supervisors
·Experience is required in managed care health plan design, flexible benefit plans, retiree medical benefits, healthcare data analysis and employer financial statements reporting provisions
·Candidate must be comfortable and personable in dealing directly with clients
·Reasonable understanding of the Healthcare industry is needed
·Financial reporting background is preferable but is not mandatory
·Programming experience, especially on TAS, is important
·Ability to work with spreadsheets (MS Excel) is required and database software (MS Access) is preferable
·Project management and organization skills are important
·Good communication skills are required
·Willingness to travel at least 25 percent of the time
·An interest in international travel is a positive
