Responsibilities:


·Collect and analyze required Underwriting risk information, communicating with management, and assisting in some supervisory duties, as required.
·Develop new tools or information sources that enhance the collection and risk analysis of information.
·Develop and track relevant information concerning the company financial risk position.
·Create future projections that supply a foundation for recommendations of underwriting guideline improvement to senior management to improve the company financial position.
·Assist in evaluating senior management initiatives to maximize potential company financial position improvement.

Qualifications

·Requires a minimum of 3 to 6 years of actuarial and general health insurance industry business experience. Knowledge of Underwriting processes and risks a plus.
·Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science or Mathematics and possible ASA certification and membership. It is desirable incumbents to have attained advanced academic training in statistics, economics, or a related discipline
·Requires thorough knowledge of actuarial and Underwriting risk management processes and a complete understanding of the factors that influence health insurance operational profitability.
·Requires strong analytic ability to manage and provide advice relating to risk matters.
·Requires specific experience in evaluating data needs and judging data quality.
·Requires ability to apply advanced mathematical modeling, forecasting, statistical analysis, and actuarial techniques to risk management issues.
·Requires the ability to build data models and conduct scenario testing and sensitivity analysis.
·Requires experience in supervising, reviewing/auditing work of others, especially in a financial or technical aspect.
·Requires excellent oral, written, and presentation skills to effectively communicate actuarial/statistical analysis results throughout the company, including Sr. Management.
·Requires ability to process complex time sensitive data and information from multiple sources, make decisions based on this data, and to effectively communicate the related required actions to a broad audience.
·Requires the ability to produce accurate analysis in a timely fashion.
·Requires ability to conduct analysis consistent with professional conduct standards and regulatory requirements.
·Require the ability to identify problems and facilitate change.
